SOUTHERN CROSS OWNERS GROUP

S.C.O.G.

2012 CHRISTMAS IN JULY MUSTER

MUSTER REPORT:  Our annual muster which this year was held at the Casino RV Village has proved to be a great success.  There were some 16 Southern Cross Rigs plus Geoff our resident Father Christmas and Bob & Jenny the Awning man (Major Sponsors of the story or poem competition - check out the winning entry here).

We had a meet and greet night on Friday at the Bar-B-Q Hut and then on Saturday it was free time,  Sat. night was Xmas in July in the club house where all people took their evening meal and drinks and we were able to decorate the tables with Xmas decorations.

During the evening we held a Trivia Quiz,  which was won by Rael & Sue Thomas who had too much general knowledge for all the others.  It was then time for Santa to arrive who presented everyone with presents supplied by Barry, Lorraine & John from Southern Cross which were very well received.  Later we held a competition which was called “Chase the ping pong ball” and this was won by Lyn Tainton & Barry Watson.

Musician Geoff then entertained us with a sing-along and asked us to try and compose a group song to the “Battle Hymn of the Republic” which we have so far received three verses and we hope you can all help out.

The perpetual trophy was won by Barry Watson as the biggest “Richard Cranium” for the week-end, after his spectacular dance along the Bar-B-Q tables before hitting his head on the wheel of the “Trap” aka horse drawn sulky suspended from the roof , bowling him head over heels onto the ground below, leaving him with a damaged head, which luckily did not require stitches or a transplant.

Sunday morning we all enjoyed the BBQ Bacon & Eggs Etc. supplied by the Southern Cross Crew before a lazy day recovering.

Whilst at Casino we discussed next years event and it appears that the preference is for it to be held again at Casino because of the facilities, but we change the date and have in or around October, please keep this in mind when you are organising your travels. Let us know if you have a suggestion.

Also it has been noted that 4 or 5 couples will be in Tasmania in the New Year, and it is hoped to organise a mini gathering at Primrose Sands sometime in February, we will keep you all advised nearer to the time  and hope you can join us.

Our owners group contact list is completed as far as we know, but if you can add anything to it please send us an E-mail with your details.  We will include it on our list also if you do not wish to be there also let us know and you will be removed from the list.

If you are not on Face Book for the Southern Cross Owners Group and would like to be please send a request to Chris and she will reply in the affirmative.

Hoping you all have safe travels, and enjoy our great country,

Regards,Mel.
